Steve Belknap

Founder and President

Steve Belknap, Founder and President, started building a basis for operating a successful business after he served five years active duty in the US Air Force and completing a Bachelors of Science in Occupational Education degree from Wayland Baptist University.   After an honorable discharge from the US Air Force he worked as a Financial Advisor for Prudential Securities.  Deciding that sitting behind a desk was not for him he found an Austin corporate recruiter that intrigued him with building new homes for a large Houston homebuilder.

While working for Village Builders in Houston he built four series of homes, from patio to estate homes. Later promoted to the Houston Division Quality Assurance Manager position he trained and managed a team of Quality Assurance Inspectors.

In 2004 American Tradition Custom Homes (ATCH) was established.  While creating ATCH he received his residential code home inspectors license and conducted foundation make-up, frame/mechanical, and final inspections for a variety of Houston production and custom homebuilders.

He has managed a custom home construction team that built homes from Beaumont to Marble Falls in the Texas Hill Country.  He has created lesson plans and conducted training for Construction Managers and home plan designers integrating his code inspection knowledge to avoid expensive and timely mistakes.

He has completed the National Association of Homebuilders requirements to receive his Graduate Master Builder designation.  Combining the skills in the financial industry, quality management, construction management, code inspection, training and continued education Steve has created a very personal process to building very high quality homes.

Ultimately our goal is to build a stunning home with the highest quality.  However, equally important is providing a pleasant experience with guidance and high levels of communication to our homeowners. We look forward to the opportunity to build your custom dream home.
